Thursday, June 15, 2023 - Enjoyable, although only a shadow of the much more expressive and nuanced Y series Shiraz/Viognier I recently tried. This has some good dark fruit for sure, a little vague, maybe plum, and a slightly smoky tone that didn't jive as well (thankfully mostly in the background.) I liked the bloom of fruit on the palate, even if it could use a bit more acidic pop. Feels like too much oak for the grape quality. Still, I've had far worse and I liked this more than their Scribbler Cab, which was harsh and reductive.
