Sunday, October 29, 2023 - WSET2 Course Notes; 10/22/2023-11/5/2023 (WineHouse, Los Angeles): Appearance: Deep ruby to garnet.
Nose: Medium+ intensity. Prune, black currant. Vulcanised rubber and warm volcanic soil (two different aromas, just happen to have the word volcano in common). Hint of coffee and smoke. Cedar wood.
Palate: Dry, medium+ acidity, medium+ tannin and body, high alcohol and flavour intensity. Smoke character with some very ripe red cherries. Distant chocolate. Medium+ finish.
9/10. Very good but to be honest, I expected more.
