90 Points

Saturday, July 14, 2012 - Decanted for 2+ hours. Ruby with slight bricking at the rim. Silky palate with intense musty blackcurrant and tart mulberry. No oak evident, yet enough acidity to carry this into the next decade. Unfortunately the fruit is almost too sweet. It seems to be missing a lot of the complexity, unlike the last bottle we had. These wines are an enigma as my first bottle of the 06 was disappointing while the second was wonderful. With this 05, the first was superlative however this one was less than impressive.
