Saturday, October 28, 2023 - Whew! 9th and last bottle of a long night drinking. Consumed the other bottles in a group of 8-10 but this wine I drank with only 2 others. This was a PNP. I remember how impressed I was by this wine at the winery and tonight was no different. Most Washington wines I have drunk are bright and red fruited this wine was not that. This is a serious dark fruited wine that somehow still comes across as elegant.

Your palate is immersed in flavors of blackberry, and blueberry. Followed by bay leaf, thyme, and violets. Jeb Dunnuck's notes on this wine say, "Lithe and muscular" which seems like a contradiction in terms but is quite apropo for this wine. While this wine has plenty of oomph it comes across light on its feet with an ethereal quality to the wine. Think of a powerful ballerina dancing across your palate. I really enjoyed this wine and drank this over an hour and a half with little to no change in the wine.

This is in a great spot for drinking if you like power in your fruit and some secondary flavors. This will definitely add complexity if laid down for a couple of years if you prefer that. In a sweet spot for me. Pretty darn close to a 95 but the 2016 My Favorite Neighbor I drank earlier in the evening beat this bottle by a nose and I do mean that literally!
