Wednesday, December 25, 2013 - This wine was opened and consumed over 2 evenings, more as a technical tasting than a bottle for dinner.

DAY 1 - Decanted for 3.5 hours. Slight bricking on the edges with a very thin meniscus. Nose was powerful with dark fruit, mineral and hints of cold coffee. Very well balanced, acids are medium and the Tannin is very well intact. This wine is still young with cassis, gravel and stone fruits on the palate,

DAY 2 - The nose has settled some and I got more oak than the previous evening. Still a smooth mouth feel and the fruits are still showing well. The finish on day 2 was not as long as day 1 and a little light and short. I expected day 2 to show better but that was not the case.

I have more that I will open several years down the road but in my opinion, this is a great wine that will not disappoint but I don't think further aging will add more than what she has going right now... We'll see,
