Monday, September 7, 2009 - Decanted 1hr. This wine has really filled in fleshed out since I had this last November. Though on a smaller scale, the Cayuse trademark was present on the nose, offering plenty of funk and animal fur. A round, almost spherical wine, great palate flavors of strawberry fruit, almost liquor like in its weight, but not over ripe or sweet, quite a balancing act. I really noted strong flavors of hot stones and white pepper, which give the wine its own unique identity and personality. Long, resonating finish. Should drink well today, and for a good 5 years ahead.
