Sunday, October 1, 2023 - Pulled this at random to have on porch celebrating nice fall sunset. No time to decant so had on pop and pour. Never had this bottling before and been wanting to try the Ridge Pagani. Geat reviews so had high expectations.

We love the Ridge Lytton Springs and Geyserville (with slight preference toward Lytton Springs) Not sure what I expected flavorwise from the Pagani, but this was really all tart acidic cranberry juice at first. No heartburn, but close.

An hour later some pleasing but minimal aromas on the nose came out. We had this without food, and this may be better with food (thinking fatty italian sausage and pepper heros) for me in near term.

Not over extracted, medium body, light on its feet for 14.8%. Will save other bottles and try again next year.

In the end I was struggling a bit to see the sweet spot this fits in. If we are the mood for a big zin we would pull Bedrock, Turley or another Ridge single Vineyard. If we wanted a slightly lighter sipper with great fruit and balanced acid we would pull a nice Oregon pinot. Will update when we open next bottle.
