flawed

Saturday, January 5, 2013 - Another leaker. Drinkable, but advanced beyond other bottles I've had. I picked up a bad batch of these from two places (WineCommune and WineBid). The photos and fill looked good, but all had leaked under the foil. I get the nasty suspicion someone knowingly auctioned their poorly stored or otherwise flawed bottles. Caveat emptor; I know this is one of the risks of backfilling my cellar. I still wish bad karma on anyone who knowingly sells their defective wines. Mine go down the sink, not to some unwitting bidder's cellar.

Sorry I missed your note until now. The bottles were not listed as "signs of past leakage," but WineBid is very good about listing this. I think the bottles may have beened cleaned; clear signs of leakage, but it only showed when the capsule was removed. Obviously, none of them had capsules you could spin; maybe acution houses should list that.
