Sunday, January 4, 2009 - New Year's Weekend @ Rob & Lisa's; 1/1/2009-1/4/2009 (Scott's Valley, CA): Knowing that the 04 vintage was pretty decent out in Chianti, I was thinking that this would be much better than the 05 that I picked up a week or so ago. This showed very similar to that one, but I did find it to be a little more soft and approachable. This also paired really nicely with the homemade minestrone soup that we had for dinner. I really love the blend of mushroom, earth, ripe cherries, and cranberries that show on the nose of this wine. Excellent QPR in this wine, and I will be definitely picking up some more.
