Friday, October 7, 2022 - I have had a few wines from Chianti Colli Senesi before and had found them all disappointing. This is different-Very good juice! Felsina seems to maintain high standards across their entire line of cuvees.

Popped and poured. Dark red in color. Nose evolves after a while in the glass but is multi-dimensional with fruit, spice, and some savory notes. On the palate, it's clean and with decent acidity as one would expect from a Sangiovese. The 10% Merlot rounds it out nicely. Tannins are moderately coarse and fairly prominent, but in balance with the rest of the wine. Fairly short finish. Really enjoyed this. Good weekday wine but would not be embarrassed to serve at a dinner party either. Decent QPR at $17, though I see others have it at $10-12, which I think is a terrific deal.
