Wednesday, April 12, 2023 - Decanted 2 hours. Medium ruby, perhaps less extracted than the 2018 in comparison. Dark cherries, iron, earth, mineral, purple flower notes. Beautiful balance on the palate, with plenty of tannin to suggest a long life ahead. This is an excellent wine but I didn’t find it as immediately approachable or open as the 2018. It will be fun to see how this develops with more time in the bottle.
