Friday, March 22, 2024 - The aromas start heavy on the pomegranate, but what an evolution in the glass as this opens up! The palate starts with potpourri and dried rose, but less delicate things. eventually come to the fore. Game and smoked meats, light green garrigue, bay leaf, maybe some black olive, crushed gravel, and dark minerals that cackle from inside the volcano's core. The acidity doesn't sear, but it almost blisters, and I'm half-convinced I felt a slight frizzante, and the tannic structure supports all those wild mineral and herbal notes.
