Sunday, February 15, 2009 - This wine was all fruit...and "jammy" at that. No smoke/earth (which I love & look for). Only mid-level acidity and almost no tannic structure. A pop & pour, non-critical, fruit-forward, quaffer...but if I was looking for that in a Pinot, I'd grab a Mark West and save $15! I'm definitely developing my Pinot-palate and this solidified that Sonoma Coast is over-rated (for my taste, anyway). Then too, I've been a bit "Pinot-spoiled", of late. For me, it's about smokiness (RRV) earth-over-fruit (Sta. Rita Hills), and bright acidity (Santa Lucia Highlands).
