Thursday, December 15, 2022 - bright young yellow color, grand nose of apple, pear, brown butter and that ground coffee bean like hallmark of this particular wine, lime and mineral notes, on the palate an impressive impact- very young and primary fruit and yet it shows its arrays of delights well, apple, pear, a note of orange as well as citrus peel, savory and mousse notes, supple and substantial, sensational length with exceptional tension, long after fragrance, after a couple of hours it began to close down- so pop and pour if you try this young, as in many great vintages this will endure for many decades, but uniquely this vintage has a certain presence- notable in the grandness of the nose and the great tension on the palate- that says grand cru, it is the wine we have all come to love- but with a little extra something in what is looking to be a magnificent vintage all around at Joseph Drouhin.
