Skirts the mid palate and finishes in a blocky and angular drop of unripe red cherry fruit. The tension is serious, gripping the sides of the cheeks with a pucker that holds the tastebuds hostage. Air helps reveal some hints of tilled rocky earth, beef drippings, raspberry seeds, and crunchy red and black cherry, but this is mostly a stern professor with a wooden stick. Almost not fair to judge here in its current state. Hold until Taylor Swift becomes a great grandparent.

The Chave is red Burg in stature but with some added funk and flavors that speak to the specific terroir. This is definitely more on the airy side of the spectrum. If that’s your jam, you’re in for a treat. I mean, after 2043…

I do love the savory and deep vintages as well. 17 was the last vintage I had early that blew me away with regards to approachability early. I just took down a 19 and it's going to fall right in the middle. Tons of energy but it's shutting down now and who know when it will awaken.

I have some of the 2020, I heard they will be exceptional, but as you said need decades. I buy a few each vintage hoping that one of these wines can be close to living up to the 2010

    11/16/2023 8:11:00 AM - 1990 is $3k:)
That is why I need to find somone with one, at $1000 it is tempting. But I but the current releases and hope. But the reason it is $1000 is most say it is the best Chave ever
