90 Points

Monday, November 7, 2022 - A slightly duller aroma vs Clos de Ursules -20, with a red-fruited mix of ripe cranberries and strawberry with a very light smokiness (we can also call it toast) in the background.

Here, too, a focus on acidity (which feels very appley and young in its sharpness), but here the fruit is more visible already from
start. As a mixture of red currants and stems (a bit like a redfruited cabernet franc even) and lingonberries.

The tannins are a little more aggressive and with a sharper edge to themmore. Maybe it's harvested a little in haste in the face of impending rain or that the producer wants to show this particular vineyard's expression?

Compared to Clos de Ursule, this is a wine with more character early on, but also more extremes (hard acidity, tannins that feel a little young and edgy) that needs to be phased together.

Recommended to be saved 5 years or more for these
reasons.
