Wednesday, September 27, 2023 - Pale yellow. Engaging nose of light peach or nectarine. There is some spiciness, almost like Gewürztraminer light. Unfortunately, it finishes with just a tad too much sweetness for my taste despite a reasonable amount of acid. It's great to see this popular Georgian/Russian variety grown in the U.S. Several decades ago, Jim Concannon, after a trip to the USSR, imported cuttings to be grown on his family vineyard in the Livermore Valley. But that wine went nowhere, and the vines were either pulled or grafted over to more commercial varieties. Overall, the Dr. Konstantin Frank wines are a great value.
