Friday, September 26, 2014 - Double decanted before leaving for restaurant and then poured and allowed to a air in a good sized bdx bowl. The wine is absolutely lovely and I would say in the front part of a fine drinking window. Light colored, the faintest hint of 99% resolved oak, sweet and spicy and just want you want from a maturing Rioja. I've been drinking more Lopez Heredia recently, and this wine has a slightly more modern polish to it, but all in all just a beautiful wine and I wish I had more but sadly only 1 bottle. (In this season of reflection and atonement, I must confess that I stole this bottle a few years ago for $35 from some consignor sale. An off the hook value for a wine of this value)
