Thursday, April 18, 2024 - Opened and poured. Deep 2020 robe. Fascinating combination of ripe berry and penetrating fennel and menthol on the nose. Medium weight, quite richly textured. A tale of 2 wines in the mouth-first a blast of ripe black cherry fruit which seems very un-Angerville, then surging cranberry acidity, bitter licorice, and soil that seem way more typical of this producer. Completely disjointed now yet strangely enjoyable at the same time. Very good potential, particularly given that it presumably comes from younger Premier Cru vines.
