Thursday, November 25, 2010 - INITIAL NOTES

Nose: A lot of pepper, white pepper, currant, plum,
Taste: Full mid palate, blossoms in the mouth with a nice expansion.
Nice across the mid palate fruit, a bit light, but smooth, that melts into
the finish with a tiny spark of heat.

Flavors completely hidden, needs a lot of decanting or cellaring.

AFTER 3-5 HOUR DECANTING NOTES

NOSE: More vibrant than before, super peppery still
We all know Gary's Oak monster, this is serious pepper monster!

TASTE: Wow. That is a much different story.
I'm now under the belief that the people who tasted this in the video did not decant this
or if they did, they didn't decant long.
After three hours, this has REALLY opened up to show some REALLY subtle flavors on the top and
underneath the surface, giving it another shot.

Seriously, after decanting 3 hours the complexity that was completely missing, hidden behind the tannins
before is naked, it's very interesting at this point.

I agree the wine is completely overpriced at $95, it's overpriced at half that,
I would call this a $15-$30 bottle of wine, good at that price, but when you look
at what you can get for for a little more, this is a major pass.

There's just no delicious factor to this wine.
