Wednesday, July 22, 2015 - I admit that I wasn't quite as blown away by this as I had expected to be. But, putting away my perhaps inflated expectations, this was a very fine wine. I decanted it, and it was exposed for a couple of hours although I admit to tasting it along the way. It was thinner and more refined than I thought it would be; perhaps that is the one facet that had been affected by age. Otherwise, it tasted very fresh, no negatives. It did have a middle period where it rose to an incredible level of elegance. Maybe that's it: It did not have the power and heft of typical CDP. It was actually quite an elegant and fine wine. Anyway, I remain a fan of Vieux Telegraphe and look forward to the two other bottles I have at a later date. They should age further just fine.
