Saturday, August 5, 2023 - deepish red purple color, aggressive roasted plum on the nose, dark spices, on the palate full and punchy with raspberries and plum, ripe, sweet-coated venison notes, rounded chalk, very good finish with a bit of black pepper on the tail end, with time a lovely persistent strawberry note comes to the forefront and the spice notes become more layered, with its roasted plum notes this wine is strongly marked by its vintage- but with the structure and secondary elements to keep everything in line, I anticipate this will be quite endearing in time- never losing its ripe and joyous center while gaining a good deal of layered complexity.
