Friday, March 14, 2008 - Aromas of earthy raspberry, sarsaparilla, violets, a touch of cola and black tea. Flavors of black cherry, cream soda, apple peel and mushroom. The finish has prickly acidity, rock dust, a little oak tannin and moderate levels of red fruit. Over a couple of hours it showed more tart cranberry. A competent, sinewy wine that seems just a little over manipulated (acidified) and joyless.
