Thursday, June 19, 2008 - Dark aromas of black cherry, pomegranate, cola, bittersweet chocolate and underbrush. Over a couple of hours strawberry and mushroom notes emerge. Full and silky on the palate with flavors of earthy raspberry, woodsmoke, cola and mocha. The finish is smooth and well integrated with licorice, black fruits, campfire ash and an herbal edge. I find this wine to be lacking a little delineation and fruit. It needs more zing. Comes across as competent but derivative.
