Wednesday, July 2, 2014 - Beautiful bouquet of aged bordeaux with leather, truffles, black pepper and dark fruits. The palate displays low tannins, some fruit, but overall lacks a little harmony and charm of an aged bordeaux. The 1989 vintage is not an intellectual Margaux but for want of a better word…enjoyable. Large formats might hold more pleasure than normal bottles, but I suspect even they are in gentle decline.
