Friday, November 14, 2008 - alsatian tasting (Binny's South Loop, Chicago IL): nose a loaded nose brings about all sorts of minerals and petrol fighting for supremecy with bits of apple cores. This is bordering on a petrol bomb and is almost there, but the minerals are holding it back

taste: all of the petrol on the nose had me a bit worried, but instead what you get is a very balanced and tart wine filled with various oils, petrol, minerals and some tart citrus tones working well together in a nice light feel

overall: very smooth, which was a bit unexpected in all honesty. The nose was close to be overwhelming on the petrol, but the palate was very smooth and enjoyable great medium acidity and a nice petrol finish
