Friday, January 2, 2015 - Served along with a 2005 Drouhin Chambolle Musigny, this was still the "younger" wine. Three hours of air just started to make this open up, and it only began to show its cards at the 4+ hour mark. There is still plenty of dark red fruit, and balancing tannins. Where this wine shines is in terms of overall depth. It's not subtle or pretty. It's brooding and statuesque. I thought 15 years would be a good time to check in, but I won't be opening another until at least 2020.
