90 Points

Thursday, January 15, 2009 - Decanted for 3 hours and back in the bottle for another three. Satisfying aromas of blackcurrant liquor, charcoal, kirsch, just a little grilled herb and develops a floral edge. Meaty on the palate, with lots of cassis and green peppercorn. The powerful finish shows kirsch, white pepper, a crushed rock note and bright fruit. There is just the slightest heat that detracts very little from the pleasure. An interesting wine that is just slightly over-ripe for my palate.
