Saturday, April 6, 2024 - This Scherrer is in fantastic shape. Opens with a remarkable acidity but 10 minutes in the glass evolves into a remarkably well balanced wine. Finish is impeccable with an earth and baking spice dominant note. Very fine tannin integration at this age. Tertiary notes dominate: earth. spice, slight soy/umami.

Nose is distinctive and lovely, still with a slight umami and baking spice, with a raspberry marmalade quality in the background. Some Ethyl Acetate on first opening but quickly blew off and/or integrated. So glad we had this around.
