Wednesday, December 21, 2016 - Good twisted and poured but significantly better the next day. Impressively opaque black to the edge with no off putting alcohol vapors or oxidation, just an intense blackberry smell with a brush of smoked meat. Very velvety in the mouth with adequate but subdued acidity and tannin, and no heaviness or overt sweetness. The swallow glides down with a burst of blackberry, black plum and black currant fruit, plus an undertow of acidity good enough to end refreshing. Unusually enjoyable and delicious for a Barossa wine without being ponderous or over ripe.
