90 Points

Monday, August 24, 2009 - This is my favorite wine from Sawyer. I have been visiting and tasting there since 1995, and always gravitate towards their Merlot. It has thick and intense dark cherry and blackberry fruit, yet it is soft and feminine on the palate. There is plenty of French oak, but it integrates seamlessly. The alcohol just enhances everything. Medium bodied. Nice ripeness. Silky tannins. Lip smacking, fruity, red licorice finish.
