Saturday, November 26, 2016 - A beautifully matured wine and while has likely come off its peak, this is still drinking extremely well. Fill was very high shoulder and cork was fully intact. Color was rusted ruby, with some light amber at the edges. The nose was a nice mixture of red cherry, cedar, leather, tobacco, and violets. The nose kept evolving and revealing new aromas over several hours. A mid-weight wine that was really elegant on the palate. It seemed to keep improving as it aerated. Finish was quite long, with great freshness. Acidity just in the right place. This should continue to drink well for a number of years, and while there is no rush to open this now, there is also no reason to wait any longer on this.
