Tuesday, July 5, 2022 - This pure Syrah comes from the Entrevon parcel in Malaucène, located at 350 metres on the north side of Mont Ventoux. The rocks date back to the third period of the Miocene with sandy soils. The grapes were hand-picked on 26 September 2019, 90% destemmed and fermented in concrete cuve for 15 days. This was followed by ageing for 18 months in stainless steel and for nine months in bottle. 1,567 bottles were produced.

slightly transparent violet

The 2019 Entrevon has now undergone three years of ageing and evolved into a sensual and picture-perfect wine. The reductive parts present in the early stages have already disappeared. The Syrah opens with notes of blackcurrants including stalks, crunchy plums, blackberries and sour cherries in combination with bresaola, some ink and dry wood. Everything is balanced and ripe, but cool.

On the palate, the 2019 Entrevon comes across as round and supple, sensual and juicy with a fine silky tannin and a ripe warm core that also offers a good amount of extract sweetness. The blend of wild berry fruit, plums and cassis, a few cherries, olive tapenade and dark tobacco is accompanied by a lively minerality that gives the elegant and powerful wine just the right dose of freshness.
