Sunday, March 31, 2024 - This was the final wine served by the in-laws at Easter dinner, and it was delicious. It's a Bordeaux blend from Bolgheri, 50% Merlot, 30% CS and 20% CF. The Orma property is wedged between Ornellaia and Sassicaia in the north end of the zone, close to Bolgheri commune. Once again, I was surprised how drinkable this was for such a young wine. Full-bodied, but with soft tannins and blackberry, black current, and tobacco on the palate. There's some oak here as it's aged in barrique, but it's not overwhelming at all. Still, I think this will be better in another few years when the oak integrates a bit more, and if it was in my cellar I'd likely not touch it until age 10. 93+
