90 Points

Saturday, December 16, 2017 - Lasagna Dinner at Karen's House with Italian wines (Princeton, NJ): Red fruit, lots of cherries, dried fruits, leather, some herbs and a touch of menthol on the finish (particularly initially). Good on its own but really excellent with the meat lasagna from D'Angelo's: it loved the tomatoes, meat and all the flavors. Perhaps not the very best showing of this wine, but a respectable one. This seemed more advanced than the bottle we had in 2013, so it might be time to drink up. (Or could be bottle variation). To be fair, it was also a little overpowered by the Tormaresca Bocca di Lupo, which we also had that night, and is a much more powerful wine.

I think this was our last bottle (from a case purchased in 2010), although the inventory says there is one more bottle here.

With Karen K at her house in Princeton.
