Saturday, May 10, 2014 - Brought to TH's birthday dinner at Blue Butcher. One of the handful of bottles whose corks were not strong enough to survive an accidental freezing of my wine fridge (since repaired), this bottle of 1990 les forts was its classy and charming self. Goodness knows how the smell of pencil shavings and charcoal ash can come together with grapey, cassis flavors to form such a persuasive package for the human nose and palate. But some mysteries in life are not to be unraveled, but simply to be left alone and enjoyed!
