Sunday, November 25, 2007 - Here, I thought Shirazgirl and Aylwin were destined by fate to cross swords in wine as in chemistry. As it happens, my bottle is 2002 and hers is 2004. Straw yellow colour, abundant oak on the nose, on the palate, oak and creamy minerality, rounding of age showing in a patina of complex aromatic notes. Certainly a good buy at 50 % off.
