Lots of dark fruit (plums) off the nose coupled with hints of vanilla and oak, allspice, leather
Super astringent. HIGH tannin levels, AGGRESSIVE on initial pour. Metallic back taste for the first hour.
After several hours of decanting, and a robust dinner of an orzo salad, pizza and Swedish meatballs, the wine settled down some. I still think the wine is only for food pairing right now, and is in a developmental stage. I will try another bottle in 2-3 years.
