Tasted October 18, 2005 at home with a dinner of Grilled Lamb. Opened and served immediately in Spiegelau Authentis Magnum glasses. Do not decant! Pop, pour and enjoy. Light plum color against the light with zero bricking evident, slightly darker against a white sheet of paper with just a tad of opaqueness. Nose of graphite, tobacco, black cherries, cinnamon, floral elements and some potpourri with a bit of earth as the backbone. Quite appealing. Delicate flavors of red cherries and some light notes of red licorice followed by an earthy, moderate finish. Mild tannins, moderate acidity. Ready to go. Drink now or over the very short term. This was a very nice little QPR and was recommended on that basis. Pure Commentary (like my tasting note wasn’t): This is not a “sell the woman and children to obtain it” kind of wine but it’s what I love about Bordeaux in a good vintage. You can find a nice drinking wine at a very reasonable price point that can still give you pleasure 10+ years down the road.
