Took the foil off (it was thick and heavy), and the cork looked in good shape. Used an ah so to open. I could hear the seal break as I inserted it, which was a good sign, and the cork came out fully intact, with only about 1/2 soaked. Fruit initially on the nose, with a slight must. Definitely bricking once poured in the glass. With 20 minutes of air, it opened up to really a fruit juice - maybe a prune juice mixed with cherry juice - profile. No tannins, very slight acidity. Certainly past it’s prime, but obviously well stored, and in as good of condition as I could imagine. Fairly tasty, and very drinkable. A fun surprise!
