Initially a little stinky and funky, this blooms with air to show more and more intense smoky and meaty aromatics. The palate doesn't have the concentration and weight of the 1999 or even the 2004 we had alongside but there was an elegance to the red fruit and taut acids that were amply pleasing. A phenomenal wine beyond a shadow of a doubt.
