Saturday, October 22, 2011 - Decanted about an hour. A nice garnet color. Cherries, garrigue, licorice, eucalyptus, smoke, meat juices, and cedar on the very nice nose. Medium body with solid, ripe tannins and very nice acidity. Some distinct minerality adds nice complexity to the fruit and herbs on the palate with meaty notes coming in underneath. Very nice length on the finish with the eucalyptus note and minerality coming in on top of the fruit. Very solid and in a nice drinking window. Should be prime for drinking over the next few years.
