Friday, November 24, 2023 - Ordered at a restaurant, this bottle was uncorked, poured and serially tasted over a two-hour period. Medium-to-deep ruby in color, it flaunts an aromatic profile of red bramble fruits, Montmorency cherries, dried flowers, tobacco, savory herbs and loamy earth. Medium-to-full-bodied, freshly acidic, proportionately oaked and without any heat from its 14.5% alcohol, it delivers flavors in line with the aromas, coating them with medium-weight, fine-grained tannins. Layered in the middle and medium-to-long on the back end, this is showing well now but will likely benefit from a bit more time in the cellar. If you choose to pop the cork at this stage, give it an hour of air if possible. Drink 2025-2033.
