Sunday, February 7, 2016 - From a bottle personally purchased upon release and cellared in pristine fashion, this deep garnet wine excites from the get-go. With a complex bouquet centered around a core of dark plum fruit, it adds cigar box, saddle leather, tree bark, truffle and loamy earth aromas. Medium-bodied and with low-to-medium acidity, it follows with flavors that mirror the nose. The tannins have resolved and the wine's 12% alcohol is beautifully integrated. Layered and dense in the middle, it closes with a long, silky-textured finish. Well-cellared bottles of this fully mature Bordeaux should easily last through the remainder of this decade. Drink now-2020.
