Community Tasting Note

Monday, April 15, 2024 - First wine of the tasting, very graciously hosted by Samantha, and like the others, to my understanding, aerated for 6 hours before our visit. Typical luscious VV dark notes of cherries, cassis (seemed very noticeable after BO, where that wasn’t present), black currants, dark chocolate, some spice. A bit more oak than I’d choose and a bit less structure. Very enjoyable, but as a general “second wine” skeptic, I think you can find more interesting wines at the price point, so I wouldn’t be a buyer. Good now with the air, suspect its best drinking will be in the next 5-8 years. 93+
