Thursday, December 8, 2022 - Tasted at the cantina with Giuseppe Cavallotto. This spent nearly two years in large Slavonian oak botti. 14.5% ABV. The wine is a dark garnet crimson color. The nose is floral, spicy, fruity and earthy...very complex. High acidity and low tannin characterize this classically mid-weight varietally correct Barbera. It has plenty of "tart and crunchy" red berry fruit...raspberry, cranberry, pomegranate. Medium to long finish. Very age-worthy though in my opinion. Giuseppe suggested that its best 3-4 years after bottling. Classy.
