Saturday, April 8, 2023 - Give this 8+ hours in a decanter to get the best out of it right now, this is quite serious. With lots of air this becomes so luscious and pure on the nose, gorgeous sweet fruit, violet liqueur, licorice, raw almond, a little minty herbs... this is almost Nebbiolo-like... on the palate it is full and dense, but tense and lithe, the fruit is dark and crunchy, and there's a strong acid line to back up the intense ripeness, tannins are not as firm as Nebbiolo would be, but they are significant and very fine, this should become velvety in time. This is is quite ripe and perfumed, with great balance, freshness, and structure, I think it'll be much better in a few years.
