Thursday, September 14, 2023 - Medium to light ruby. Beautifully savory, with suggestions of crunchy fresh cranberry, balsamic mountain strawberry, and some hints of trademark pine needles. Excellent acid backbone. Happily, quite the opposite of overblown California Pinot Noir made in the style of thick jammy stuff. This is a wine built for accompanying food, and not just sipping on its own. Very enjoyable over three nights, and a good introduction to the line. Those who like this style will find similar attributes, considerably stepped up in terms of depth and complexity, in the lovely recent estate bottlings.
