Thursday, March 2, 2017 - Engel and Truchot dinner at Jade Palace. Flight 1 with the Truchot MSD VV 99, Engel Vosne 99, Engel Brulees 98. Dark inky color, heavy extraction on the nose with dark currants, soy, cedar, black tea and a heavily roasted character. On the palate, the extraction followed through. Overripe, dark fruited, wood, tar and burnt meat. Not my type of Burgundy, but this has the depth and power of a 1er. (Most of us guessed this was the Brulees).
