Tuesday, October 11, 2011 - This sucked on opening, fully of barnyard stank and not much else. Really tight, after a few hours it improved a bit, showing some chocolate and alcohol in the nose. This may have had a bit of TCA in it as well. Flavors were lean, framed by a ton of tannins that seemed to be unresolved and overwhelming the 8-year old fruit. Currant, alcohol and chocolate flavors but really, these were knocked a bit loopy by those tannins. For such an old wine (by Chilean standards), I expected more.
